A beguiling, genre-hopping fable for anyone who has dreamt of breaking free from wage slavery.

Combining the form of classic European art cinema with South American deadpan drollery, Rodrigo Moreno has authored an utterly unique heist film destined for cult classic status. Ultra-ordinary bank teller Morán (Daniel Elías) makes an extraordinary decision. He will steal exactly double what he will earn in his job until retirement, and after serving a shortened period of incarceration for good behaviour, split the cash with a co-worker who has been keeping it safe. After Morán’s delightfully casual execution of the crime, he and his hesitant accomplice Román (Esteban Bigliardi) live out their lives in compelling parallel tragicomedies. Morán serves time, while Román embarks on a picaresque romantic journey through the countryside to hide the money. A laid-back epic filled with charm and heart, The Delinquents is a beguiling, genre-hopping fable for anyone who has dreamt of breaking free from wage slavery.

“If Pedro Almodóvar and Eric Rohmer teamed up to compose a meanderingly long crime caper it might look like this – 5 stars.” (The Guardian)

“A dark Dostoyevskyian tale of crushing guilt and moral turpitude transforms into something hopeful and strangely ebullient … Hilariously funny.” (Little White Lies)

“A genius tragicomedy on the elusive nature of freedom.” (The Playlist)
