“A deeply personal story of disability, identity, and self-love.” (Slashfilm)

“That feeling of being the only one in the room like this … it’s all I know.” Ella Glendining was born without hip joints, and with very short thigh bones. Although she loves her body, and has, in her own words, “found ways to celebrate my freakishness,” she deals with ableism and prejudice daily. In this self-directed, hyper-personal piece we follow Ella on her determined quest to find someone who her shares her rare disability. Through video-diary confessionals, family archive footage and beguiling interviews, Ella gently interrogates questions of self-identity and socialised discrimination while facing the challenges of motherhood.

“Glendining isn’t scared to ask questions in her film, not just of those around her but also of herself.” (Screen International)

“A deeply lovely movie.” (Film threat)
