A touching portrait that puts the spotlight back on a brilliant but unsung seventies singer-songwriter, Judee Sill.

A touching portrait that that tells a tragic story while also studiously unpacking the musical brilliance of her work, Lost Angel puts a deserving spotlight back on a brilliant but unsung seventies singer-songwriter Judee Sill. Growing up in LA, Judee had a troubled adolescence of addiction, armed robbery and prison before a meteoric rise. In two years, she went from living in a car to a deal with Asylum Records and the cover of Rolling Stone. And then her life was cut short. As told by David Geffen, Linda Ronstadt, Jackson Browne and Graham Nash – along with Judee herself – the film explores her unique musical style and the inspiring recent rediscovery of her singular music.

“It is a great piece of lost classic rock history that so many will relish. It’s the kind of film that buries itself in your ribcage and keeps glowing for days afterward.” (Film Threat)

“If the real sorrow of the Judee Sill story is that she was never properly known, the driving force behind her revival is that this forgotten music just has to be heard.” (The Guardian)
