Operations Manager
AFF is seeking an Operations Manager to join the team on a short-term contract commencing part-time in April and transitioning to full-time from July to November 2026.
This pivotal role suits a proactive all-rounder with film festival experience who thrives in a small, dynamic team environment and enjoys taking projects from concept to completion. Working closely with all departments, the Operations Manager will oversee bespoke organisational initiatives and ensure systems, processes and teams are set up for success before peak delivery. The Operations Manager will play a vital role in “connecting the dots” across the organisation, contributing to a smooth, professional and world-class festival experience.
Key responsibilities include:
· Leading cross-departmental operational planning and implementation
· Act as the central connector during the festival to ensure seamless festival delivery
· Driving systems improvement and embedding efficient workflows
· Manage bespoke organisational projects from start to finish
· Supporting senior management to align departments and priorities
· Oversee and coordinate festival production, technical and events requirements
· Act as the primary liaison of and supervision for festival venues, including festival box office and front of house staff and volunteers
· Preparation and execution of AFF operational risk management protocols, including WH&S compliance
· Ensure relevant budgets are monitored and adhered to
