Adelaide Film Festival is not only a celebration of cinema, it's a dynamic advocate for the film industry.
At Adelaide Film Festival we run a range of initiatives in and out of festival time that support filmmakers and demonstrate the power of film.
We’re committed to investing in South Australian screen productions through our Investment Fund. We support evolving moving image practices at the intersection of film, art and new media through AFF Expand Lab and the AFF & Samstag Moving Image Commission. We work with the next generation of storytellers through AFF Youth.
Celebrate local screen culture at AFF 2024.
Join Adelaide-based film collective Moviejuice for a presentation of two debut features by Australian independent filmmakers Audrey Lam and Jordy Pollock, who will both be in attendance for a screening at The Mercury, followed by a night of local music.
And a double bill by the acclaimed South Australia’s Restless Dance Theatre, together with 29Dong Dance Theatre, Korean Music Project and University of South Australia Connect2Abilities. Presenting their films Counterpoise and Dancing Against the Odds at Palace Nova Eastend.
During the 2024 festival, our friends at The Mercury celebrate their 50th anniversary and incredible legacy, established in 1974 as the Media Resource Centre (MRC) and still supporting emerging SA filmmakers. Join alumni past and present for an onscreen presentation and opportunity to reminisce and raise a glass together.
