Official Competition Jury

The AFF 2024 Official Feature Fiction and Feature Documentary competitions will be decided by a prestigious jury. Their expertise covers a broad range of engagements with the screen, from writing, criticism, exhibition to production.

We thank them for their passionate and dedicated investment in deciding the 2024 winners, presenting the directors with beautifully designed awards from the Jam Factory, and awarding $10,000 cash to each winner.

Change Award Jury

Established in 2020, the Change Award is for positive or environmental impact and cinema expressing new directions for humanity. The young will benefit most from this change and can often be its most passionate advocates. Therefore in 2024, for the first time we have established a jury for the $5,000 award. It comprises young women leaders in environmental, social and cultural change.

Shorts Award Jury

In recognition of the fresh and new voices shorts bring to cinema, this year AFF ups its commitment to the format. For the first time, we have introduced a juried award, valued at $3,000 with five short films nominated. The selected jury brings significant representation from the local industry including, one of Adelaide’s most successful producers, arguably its most talented emerging screenwriter, and a driving force behind First Nation’s filmmaking in South Australia.
