The Adelaide Film Festival is calling for entries into the Statewide Schools Filmmaking Competition, as part of the 2021 AFF Youth Festival.

Open to students and children from across SA, the Statewide Schools Filmmaking Competition is a fabulous opportunity for students to share their creativity with their peers & industry. Entries can be made by individual students, groups of students or a class of students.

Winners will share in a prize pool of $2500, with a selection of the best films screened at a Red Carpet Gala during the festival.

General submissions close May 24 2021.
Please submit your film via our preferred platform Film Freeway by clicking below

Students and Teachers wanting a better understanding of the filmmaking process should check out AFF’s How To Make A Film online workshops.

AFF Youth has three tiers for submitted work

  1. Short screen works from school children in South Australia
  2. Short screen works from school children from across the world including other Australian states
  3. Professionally made screen works – both features and shorts – targeting audiences aged from 5 to 18.

Based on the Giffoni International Film Festival model, AFF Youth will form a youth jury to judge all works.

AFF Youth was originally planned for 2020 but was postponed due to COVID-19 restrictions. All films submitted for 2020 will automatically be eligible and considered for 2021.
