Winner of Golden Bear at Berlin, and Best Film in Sydney.
Prepare for a love story as richly imaginative as it is unconventional. Endre and Mária are two solitary people who work at an abattoir. When they discover that every night they are sharing the same dream of two deer in the forest, they must work towards overcoming the isolation and the hesitancies that they have accumulated and reach out to each other. Humans are truly the most mysterious of all animals. This year’s winner at Berlin, it is a remarkable comeback for director Ildikó Enyedi, who won her first prize, the Camera d’Or, at Cannes in 1989.
