Art on Screen

264 mins

One of the innovations that we’re justly proud of here at AFF is the HIVE LAB, where we bring together artists from a diverse range of fields, put them with film practitioners and somehow magic occurs. It’s time for a review of the fruits (honeys?) that emerged from the last HIVE. This program collects two of the sweetest, both of them world premieres. Remembering Agatha sees visual artist Emma Magenta contemplating the complications of Christmas. Bruce Gladwin takes the transition from theatre to film with Oddlands, set in a strange toxic wasteland. Screening alongside them is AFF Fund project Brumley’s Suitcase from SA cinematographer Benjamin Dowie, which takes us inside the Austin music scene.
