San Francisco father Damien (Magic Mike star Channing Tatum in a career-best performance) dotes on his 8-year-old, rough-and-tumble, soccer-loving daughter, Josephine (newcomer Mason Reeves). But when he stops to catch his breath while they’re jogging in Golden Gate Park, Josephine witnesses a sexual assault. She does not have the language or reference points to understand what she sees frozen in the undergrowth and is consumed by competing terror and strange fascination.
