Ondi Timoner’s ground-breaking documentation of dueling rock bands The Dandy Warhols and The Brian Jonestown Massacre is introduced to new audiences in this extended addition of the cult classic film, Dig!.
Dubbed the “the greatest rock ’n’ roll documentary of all time” by Dave Grohl, this 20th anniversary edition of the cult film adds new narration by The Brian Jonestown Massacre's Joel Gion and features over 40 minutes of never-before-seen footage. Dig! XX looks at the collision of art and commerce through the star-crossed friendship and bitter rivalry of two iconic bands during the 90s. Both original fans and new audiences will enjoy this revisited and reworked rock doc.
In 2004, Dig! won the Sundance Grand Jury Prize for Documentary. 20 years on it’s still the definitive film of the 90s indie rock scene.
“20 years later, the creators of Dig! XX bring a new level of wisdom, understanding, and forgiveness to what they witnessed all those years ago.”
Rolling Stone
“After all these years, this documentary is still as jarring, hilarious, and deeply strange as it ever was, and these new additions only make this shocking story even more astonishing.”
