See Hollywood Legend Robert Redford’s Final Movie ‘The Old Man & the Gun’ At ADLFF 2018
"I'm not talking about making a living. I'm just talking about living."
Robert Redford is, without a doubt, a living screen icon. His versatility and output of films over the years speaks volumes, and there are few fans of cinema who haven’t come into contact with his work at least once, whether it be due to his time in front of the lens or behind it.
But all good things must come to an end, and the time has arrived for Redford to hang up his acting shoes. He’s not leaving without giving us one last film to enjoy, though - and his role in The Old Man & the Gun feels like a fitting end to what was an incredible career.
The Old Man & the Gun is a true story of an American crime legend. Redford portrays Forrest Tucker, a career crook who busted out of prison no less than 18 times (and 12 times unsuccessfully, according to the man himself). Tucker's amazing exploits - and the twinkle in Robert's eye - make this an irresistible portrait of a man who simply loved robbing banks.
The film’s Australian Premiere will take place on Saturday 13 October. Tickets are available now.
