Meet Team AFF: Tara Falleti, Partnerships & Development Coordinator
What's your role at AFF?
Tara Falleti, Partnerships & Development Coordinator
What you enjoy about working at the Film Festival?
No day is ever the same at AFF, which I love! My background is media sales, so moving across to development and partnerships and a festival environment has been a slight learning adaption, but it is great to be part of such a cohesive team and constantly speaking to different people, exploring various ways to collaborate, activate spaces, and deliver an exciting festival that brings together a multitude of these ideas and creativity. Seeing it all come together is super rewarding! Moreover, at the centre of it all is film! As a film fan and a great admirer of what AFF do and our support of local industry and filmmakers, it feels great to be part of an organisation that passionately gives back and creates stories that say something important and can be enjoyed for years to come.
What are your favourite film/s?
Such a hard question, I have so many! Ones that spring to mind though: Begin Again, Baz Luhrmann’s Romeo & Juliet, Joe Wright’s Pride and Prejudice, Breakfast at Tiffany’s, La La Land, and I’ve probably seen all the Harry Potters and Lord of the Rings a dozen times each.
What's a really underrated film you love that no one else likes/ knows about?
Begin Again! Whenever I mention it nobody has heard of it, which baffles me! It’s such a beautiful film with an awesome original soundtrack and some absolute greats; Keira Knightley, Mark Ruffalo, Adam Levine and Hailee Seinfeld. It’s a musical rom-com that tells the story of a budding songwriter who finds herself alone in a new city after her upcoming muso boyfriend ditches her. Her life gains purpose when a down and out record label executive notices her talent and they go on this sweet, unveiling journey together. If you haven’t seen it, do yourselves a favour!
What's your go-to cinema snack and/ or drink?
Chocolate anything and a glass of red.
What's your favourite spot in Adelaide?
If I’m not at the movies of course, I love going for a hike at Morialta – it’s super scenic with great views of the city, lots of trails to choose from and wildlife about, and a good workout too! Also can’t go wrong with lazy weekend afternoons at pretty much any local winery.
