Three Adelaide Film Festival FUND projects have picked up top prize in the Rising Sun Pictures Audience Awards at the 2018 ADL Film Fest.
Best Film, 2018 ADL Film Fest: Hotel Mumbai
Hotel Mumbai tells the astonishing story of those trapped in the iconic Taj Mahal Palace Hotel in the 2008 attacks. Stars Armie Hammer, Dev Patel and Tilda Cobham-Hervey walked the red carpet at the Australian Premiere on opening night in Adelaide alongside South Australian director/co-writer Anthony Maras and producer Julie Ryan, with co-writer John Collee and producer Joe Thomas.

Directed by her daughter Erica Glynn, She Who Must Be Loved is the epic life story of the remarkable Freda Glynn, 78-year-old Aboriginal woman, stills photographer, co-founder of the Central Australian Aboriginal Media Association (CAAMA) and Imparja TV, mother of Erica and Warwick Thornton, grandmother, great grandmother, radical, pacifist and grumpy old woman. The film also details what drove Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander people to stake a claim to Australia’s media landscape.

Best Short, 2018 ADL Film Fest: The Art of the Game
This hybrid documentary follows two of Australia’s most innovative photographers – Trent Parke and Narelle Autio – as they bring together the worlds of art and sport (cricket) in their first ever moving-image work Summation of Force (ADL FF 2017), posing the question: can sport really be considered art? Directed by Matthew Bate in collaboration with Parke & Autio, produced by Katrina Lucas.
