Expressions of Interest: Tales in Light moving image director
Tales in Light is a project shining a light, literally, on Adelaide’s forgotten people and events.
In 2022, it will produce a 5-6 mins moving-image work for large scale projection during the 2022 Adelaide Film Festival, 19-30 October 2022.
Background
While not always making the history books, often it’s been everyday people and events which truly shaped the lives we live today. Tales in Light will turn one of these stories into a projection artwork
The 2022 work is a proof of concept for what is hoped to be a larger future project, resulting in a projection walking trail of SA forgotten history.
AFF has publicly called for 20 ideas for hidden stories. These stories have been shortlisted and are in the process of being outlined by a team of professional writers. The final story will be selected by project partners led by the Adelaide Film Festival and animation, experience and games studio, Monkeystack.
Role of the Director
For the next stage of the project, we are seeking the paid services of a director with a passion for visioning and delivering compelling works which speak to audiences. Working with the award winning animation, experience and games studio Monkeystack, the director will be involved in the development of the final draft of the approved treatment, its production as a moving image work and its post-production. This will be a short contract of approximately 10-12 days with availability required over the period July to October, 2022.
