In 1966 Helen Reddy arrived in New York with her young daughter, a suitcase, and $230. When a promised record contract fails to materialise, she perseveres. Her friendship with legendary rock journalist Lillian Roxon, who becomes her closest confident, inspires her to write and sing the iconic song 'I Am Woman' which becomes the anthem for the second wave feminist movement and galvanises a generation of women to fight for change and sparks an astounding career that results in 15 Top 40 hits.
