Hail

Director

Amiel Courtin-Wilson

Runtime

110

A love story of mythic proportions, Hail is an audacious feature film and the culmination of six years of collaboration between Amiel Courtin-Wilson (Bastardy, Chasing Buddha) and Daniel P. Jones, a fifty-year-old ex-convict with an artist's vision of the world. Jones possesses an immense elemental power and a profound ability to reflect poetically on his existence. His work with Amiel Courtin-Wilson found initial expression in the short film Cicada (selected for the Directors Fortnight program at Cannes in 2009) which went on to win several major awards in Australia.

Hail is the culmination of their intensely personal relationship and a provocative melding of his life with heightened fictional elements, and includes an amazing performance by his real-life partner Leanne Letch and a searing cast of characters from his often brutal past.
