First look: The Boy Castaways

1 August 2013

Romance? Check. Violence? Check. A haunting rendition of Fleetwood Mac’s Don’t Stop, a deranged dandy Tim Rogers, and Megan Washington in a corset? This first glimpse from director Michael Kantor and producer Jo Dyer’s rock drama The Boy Castaways has it all.

The Boy Castaways sees four drifters lured into a vast playhouse, deep in the heart of the city. Taken in hand by the enigmatic leading lady, the men are plunged ever deeper into a labyrinth of jealousy, betrayal, violence and sex, dissolving the lines between desire and death.

Filmed at Her Majesty’s Theatre and starring Australia’s brightest lights of theatre, music and film – including Megan Washington, Tim Rogers and recent Adelaide Cabaret Festival hit, Paul Capsis – The Boy Castaways promises to be a haunting ode to the magic of the stage and the visceral power of music.

The Boy Castaways will have its world premiere at the Adelaide Film Festival on Sunday, 13 October. Earlybird prices end soon, so grab your tickets now via our website.
