“A clever comedy about old age and the human craving for validation” (Filmy Sasi)

Retired couple Meir (Sasson Gabai) and Tova (Rita Shukrun) are living out the years in quiet boredom in a Tel Aviv apartment. They always go on the same annual holiday, their adult children only provide token visits, and Meir looks more hangdog by the day. Then they meet their upstairs neighbour, charming silver fox Itzik (Lior Ashkenazi), an eternal bachelor, bon vivant, and former modelling agent. After they attend one of Itzik’s karaoke nights they join his inner circle and are invigorated by the injection of glamour. However they quickly become so reliant on their new friend’s approval that it risks their own relationship. A wry comedy with moments of both melancholy and delight, Karaoke is a must see for the young at heart.

“Karaoke is an offbeat comedic journey that delights and surprises.” (The Spool)

“Sasson Gabay gives a very soulful performance, and he is matched by the flawless Rita Shukrun as Tova.” (MovieJawn)

“…impresses with its sensitive storytelling and vibrant visuals.” – Variety
