Powerful and vulnerable, this eclectic collection of Craig Ruddy’s portraits of David Gulpilil reflect a multitude of David’s character including his vulnerability whilst recently going through medical treatment. The exhibition ranges from the larger than life, public and defiant 2004 Archibald Prize winning “Two Worlds” (its first public showing in 17 years) to intimate offscreen portraits of the screen legend. These later works were created over several years after artist and actor met again in Gulpilil’s Murray’s Bridge home. The portraits reflect the delicate transition as Gulpilil faces life and mortality – doing it, as always, his own way.

Update: 21/07
In light of the COVID-19 lockdown beginning on July 21st, the Adelaide Film Festival Youth is disappointed to announce that the inaugural edition of the festival, due to begin on July 25th, will not proceed as planned. Safety is our primary concern.
We are consulting with SA Health and Department for Education to explore potential alternative presentation dates and modes, and encourage audiences to hold onto their tickets until contacted by our Box Office team.
