Come and hear writer/director/producer Rolf de Heer and producer Julie Byrne give a blow-by-blow account of how The Survival of Kindness came to be made.

Rolf’s films include the award-winning Charlie’s Country (Best Actor for David Gulpilil, Un Certain Regard, 2014 Cannes Film Festival), Ten Canoes (Special Jury Prize, Un Certain Regard, 2006 Cannes Film Festival) and The Tracker (Best Actor for David Gulpilil, 2002 AFI Awards)

Julie Byrne’s work includes line-producing on films such as The Babadook, Charlie’s Country, and Escape from Pretoria, as well as producing Touch, and The Dead Speak Back. She is also a co-producer for Gold, starring Zac Efron. Julie has also worked with Talk to Me directors Danny and Michael Philippou, producing content for their RackaRacka YouTube channel, with an audience in the hundreds of millions.
