Hirokazu Kore-eda was born in Tokyo in 1962. His early films include tv documentaries Lessons from a Calf (1991) and August Without Him (1994). His feature films include Maborosi (1995), Nobody Knows (2004), Still Walking (2008), Like Father, Like Son (2013), Our Little Sister (2015), Shoplifters (2018) and Broker (2022). His films have won numerous awards including the Jury Prize and the Palme d’Or at Cannes.
