David Easteal was born in 1986. He studied law and literature at the University of Melbourne, and currently practises as a barrister at the Victorian Bar. He has made three shorts: Ascension (2008), The Father (2011), Monaco (2015). His first feature, The Plains, debuted in competition at Rotterdam.
