The Piccadilly

The Piccadilly North Adelaide is one of Adelaide’s best loved cinemas. Built in 1940, it has been a staple of Adelaide’s film landscape since its inception. In 2022, this beloved institution was restored and refurbished, creating a lush lounge area, making all cinemas fully accessible, and restoring many of the original art deco features. The Piccadilly shows the best that cinema has in store, from the latest blockbusters to indie darlings, cult classics and specialty 35mm presentations. The Piccadilly is home for Adelaide cinema lovers.

Capri Theatre

Conveniently located on Goodwood Road, this stylishly appointed Art Deco cinema boasts both the latest in cinema technology and stadium seating comfort. The Capri Theatre is an independent, not-for-profit cinema run by a network of generous volunteers. Built in 1941, it is heritage listed and houses the Theatre Organ Society’s unique world class theatre pipe organ. They play the latest movies and the profit from every ticket you buy goes back into the restoration of this iconic South Australian building and the mighty WurliTzer organ.

The Mercury

Established in 1974, The Mercury is a much beloved art-house cinema and independent non-profit member organisation governed by a board of directors. Key stakeholders include subscribers, patrons, the broader arts industry, screen guilds and key funders. The Mercury act as a bridging organisation that provides emerging screen makers with a pathway into a screen career and are home to a lifelong screen culture community. They have two cinemas, The Mercury (seats 186) and The Iris (seats 36), which are both homes to their exhibition programs including Cinematheque, Heaps Good Cinema and Silver Screen, as well as the Adelaide Film Festival.

Odeon Star Semaphore

Experience a movie in Adelaide’s oldest running Cinema. Opened on 22nd May 1920 as the Wondergraph Picture Palace in the historical seaside suburb of Semaphore. The now named Odeon Star is a proud family run cinema, offering $10 tickets and an affordable Candy Bar, including their famous in-house made Choc-Tops!
