Benjamin Law is one of Australia’s funniest and unique comedians. In addition to his incredible stand-up comedy, Law has written for over 50 publications in Australia and beyond. And, since January of 2016, Law has worked on SBS’ adaptation of his 2010 book of the same name, The Family Law.
While Law’s writing and stand-up are hysterical on their own, his Twitter is also full of excellent material. Before the World Premiere of The Family Law’s third season at Adelaide Film Festival (the show is coming to SBS in January 2019) we thought it would be an excellent idea to count down Benjamin Law’s five best tweets this year.
Taika, you handsome man.
At 17, I came out as gay.
At 36, I came out as someone whose entire sexuality is just photos of Taika Waititi asleep on set.

One of the few things all Australians can relate to.

How to engage with homophobes.
(1) One in 11 people are queer. Your kids statistically already have same-sex attracted adults in their lives. Go to bed furious about it.
(2) Your name is literally gay. https://t.co/o3gXd9RHIX

Ah, Australia.
Ah yes. Another evening out, another incident of being mistaken for @adamliaw.

An iconic tweet from an iconic man.
Pet peeve: snarky columnists critical of my work incorrectly referring to me as an “activist”, “comedian” or “commentator”.
Let me make this clear: I am a full-time homosexual.
