AFF offers Home Delivery for FELL

10 June 2014

Just minutes after its world premiere at the Sydney Film Festival, the new Australian feature film Fell will be made available to stream to film lovers in South Australia and the Northern Territory.

Starring Snowtown’s breakout star Daniel Henshall, Jacqueline McKenzie (The Water Diviner, Angel Baby) and Matt Nable (Underbelly, The Turning) and from up and coming director Kasimir Burgess, Fell screens in competition at the Sydney Film Festival at 6pm Friday June 13.

At 8pm CST, Fell will be offered as video on demand, until 10pm CST Sunday June 15 to South Australian and Northern Territory residents only.

AFF CEO and Festival Director Amanda Duthie said screening Fell minutes after the world premiere was a fresh and bold way of bringing the film to local audiences.

“Adelaide Film Festival loves the innovation of this distribution model,” Amanda said. “This is a chance to see a brand new Australian film – a really great Australian film – with a virtual film festival community and you can watch it anywhere and anytime. You can create your own midnight screening party or watch it in the park. The Adelaide Film Festival home delivery.”

Fell centres around Thomas Ryan (Nable), a man frozen in grief after his daughter is killed in a hit and run incident by Luke Simpson (Henshall). When Luke is released from prison, Thomas changes his identity, abandons his corporate life and relocates to the remote outpost where Luke now works as a tree feller. McKenzie plays Ryan’s wife.

Accomplished short film director Burgess makes his directorial feature debut on the film from a script by Natasha Pincus (a former HIVE Lab participant and director of the breath-taking Gotye video ‘Somebody That I Used To Know’).

Fell producer John Maynard described the online screening as “groundbreaking, giving audiences access to films in an open and democratic way”.

“Audiences now have multiple choices of accessing films,” he said.

Fell will available for streaming only – one screening, with pause and restart functions ($9.99/view).
